  1. HelpAge India What are the Positive Effects of Donations? Often we question ourselves, are donations good? Is my charity making any change, despite that majority of the country dwells in poverty? These questions are quite comprehensible as one may be wary of sharing a portion of his/her income with charitable institutions. Plus, there may be other apparent reasons like an economic crisis, the bearish phase of stock markets and other reasons for which many of us back out but that doesn’t mean we stop the good work of helping out the needy and impoverished. If we can bring a change even in a single person’s life, that too is a great start. If that happens, we’ll definitely earn contentment emotionally, socially and psychologically. Let us discuss further what positivity charitable donations brings within: Realising every bit Counts The fundamental value in donation is to help. We all can help, bit by bit. The money we donate can make a difference in someone else’s life. It could a homeless old man, could be a single mother with a meagre income, could be an orphan child or it could be anyone who is suffering. The money we give to a certain non-profit organisation, they ensure that it’s judiciously used. Once we get to know that the motive for a certain cause has been achieved and our contribution is a part of it (irrespective of small or big), we’ll need no one to explain what a phenomenal act we have had displayed. That’s because every penny made a difference. Add Gravitas in Life Our donation gives importance to our life making us believe our stance on social causes. The society has given a lot to us, so there comes a time when we have to not just acknowledge it but give it back. As we grow old, we understand how things function around us, making us more aware of the situation our society is in and the perils that are restricting it from getting better. 2. HelpAge India conscience comes into play. If we become a regular contributor, we do realise the generous contributions play a significant role in shaping society’s future. Motivation to do well in Life and Instigating Others The positivity that comes after donating our money can be truly embodied when we do it. Yes, it does motivate us to make another contribution. It brings about a streak of positivity that affects other aspects of our lives as well. We feel better as a human being, we rise in the pedestal of compassion and as a result, encourage others as well to give in. The latter matters as well. Although we do our bit, we must pass on this motivation to others as well. Even if a single person spurs from this divine act, we should consider it an absolute win-win situation. Become a Money Manager This is for regular contributors. If we have a set target of donating monthly, quarterly or annually, we become better at management of resources. We actively keep track of where our money goes and how is it being used. The impetus is psychological; we become better at managing every aspect of our lives. Amazing how one gesture can create a domino effect? Added Speck - If you want to contribute donations via cash, the recommended option is donation under 80G of the IT Act 1961. You can earn tax deductions and exemptions accordingly. As first timers, we can do feel a bit cagey in giving, most likely having some apprehensions along with but once we start getting into the habit the reluctances slowly fade to black. We strive towards creating a better, healthier and safer society of individuals. You can also make online donation as well. https://www.helpageindia.org Toll Free No Elder Help Line 1800-180-1253 C-14, Qutab Institutional Area New Delhi - 110016 HelpAge India
