Unincorporated Chapters Unincorporated Chapters hold elections for a ‘Chapter Representative’ in April of an election year. The Chapter Representative will be the presumptive Delegate at National Conventions.
Incorporated Chapters: Incorporated Chapters will elect a President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer in April of even #’d years. The Chapter President will be the presumptive Delegate at National Conventions.
Election Process: (sec 5.Viii & 5.X) • An Election Chair must be selected • Candidates must send Letter of Intent to the Election Chair (must be received at least 30 days prior to date of election) • Election date/meeting must be announced to all Chapter Members. • Must use Ballots, Sign in Sheets and Election Results form regardless of how many candidates or voters.
No nominations from the floor, and no write in candidates. • No proxy or absentee ballots. • Qualifications: • Must be over 21 • Must be in good standing over 3 months – no pending discipline (exception for new chapters) • Must be actively involved with the chapter
All ballots to be counted by Election Chair or designee • Election Chair announces results • Oath of Office • Election Results form to be signed and sent to State Rep or President • State President/Rep sends Election results to RD • RD sends the information to the National Data Base Coordinator
POC (Point of Contact): (Sec. 5.IX) • If no one choses to run for Chapter Rep or President a Point of Contact Person is chosen by the State President or Rep. • The Point of Contact (POC) will help the State to distribute information to chapter members. • POC’s cannot attend State meetings or National Conventions as a voting delegate.
