  3. Starting up It is necessary to strengthen EO implementation in ESF in Spain Strategic Group on Equal Opportunities created on 24/05/07

  4. 1. Composition • Head of Unit and Deputy Directors of both Managing & Certifying Authorities • Technical Group on EO 2. Objective • To undertake a GM strategy • Capacity Building of staff involved in ESF managing 3. Plan to implement GM • In the framework of the Technical Assistance OP • Strategic alliance with and support from the Woman’s Institute

First step undertaken: Training and capacity program on EO: • In the framework of the Technical Assistance OP = financial viability! • It is compulsory! • It reaches all people involved in the ESF Unit: - Head of Unit, Deputy Directors of both Managing & Certifying Authorities; - Technical Staff (Managing and Certifying Areas, Evaluation and Communication); - Administrative and NTICs Staff

  6. Organisation Reaching all people involved (63 people) 4 groups 4 profiles: Decision making level: 1 session, 4 hours. Technical and rest of Staff, 16 hours. Management, Evaluation and Communication. Certifying and Payments, Data processing and computer programme. Administrative Staff, 12 hours. 6

  7. Contents Adapted to each profile. For instance… Concept and policies. European and National Regulations Tools: Sex disaggregated data - Gender impact assesment - Dual Strategy to EO… Practical implementation of EO within their particular tasks and responsibilities 7

  8. Calendar Starting on January the 17th …….finishing on February the 9th. First results, in the mid February (Evaluation Form). 8

Second step undertaken: Empowering the Technical Group on EO: Process in parallel to the training and capacity program Purpose: visibility of the group and its work to formalize the group and concrete its functions and tasks Relationship between the group and other structures and organizations Composition of the group 9
