What is Western Wellness? • Consortium of services and resources • Empowering each employee to adopt and maintain healthy lifestyles • Promoting a culture of wellness It is the mission of Western Wellness to promote and improve the wellness of the campus community by empowering each employee to adopt and maintain healthy behaviors and create a healthy culture thereby improving productivity and reducing health care costs.

  3. Why do this? • Healthy employees equal a healthy organization • Improves morale and productivity • Reduces healthcare costs

  4. The One-to-One Program • Provided by Holtyn & Associates • Third-party HIPAA compliant team of wellness professionals • Charged with linking faculty and staff to campus and community resources • Evidence-based program • Goals and outcomes

  6. Participant Process • Begins with biometric assessment and wellness coaching -comfort, privacy and confidentiality -no cost to participant -convenient locations: AT YOUR DOORSTEP -focus on prevention and lifestyle choices -biometric measures with holistic scope

  7. Not just an assessment -Set personal, meaningful and achievable wellness goal -Paves way to wide range of resources to support goal -Connects like-minded employees -Success stories -Sindecuse, Unified Clinics, University Recreation (SRC), West Hills Athletic Club

  8. Making the connections -Western Wellness Committee: Chair: Jen Bailey, University Recreation Assistant Director: Fitness & Employee Wellness Programs -BCBSM Succeed program and benefit management tools -Building/department activities and celebrations
