  2. How do you recognize it? • At minimum, has a noun and participle, both in the ablative case • Ablative endings include a, o, e, u, is, and ibus • Additional prepositional phrases, adjectives, or other extra information could be included to make more than two words • Often set off by commas

  3. How do you translate it? • USE MAGIC WORDS: when, since, because, after, etc. • Must use the PAP or PPP to decide whether the phrase is active or passive (does not use FAP) • Ex. arcudedicato custodibusdormientibus domino egresso his verbisdictis nuntiis a Britannia regressis spectatorisvehementerplaudentibus
