Reactivity Aluminum: Not very reactive and has no reaction with water or steam. Sodium: Very reactive it is second in the reactivity series. Quite reactive with cold water forming slightly neutralize alkali calcium hydroxide and hydrogen gas. Potassium: Very Reactive it is the most reactive metal. It reacts very quickly with cold water. Magnesium: Not very reactive and does not react with cold water.

Does a connection or relationship exist between the reactivity of a metal and when it was discovered? • Generally, not reactive metals like gold are discovered a longer time ago at least longer than 1800 years ago. More reactive metals, like potassium and sodium are discovered later on, much later than gold, and they are more reactive. I think that it also has to do something with the shaping of the atoms and how dense they are.
