Product ideas • Problems through convergent networks • The planning needs specialists and is very complex • SMBs often start with „trial and error“-concepts („Let's do it, then see what happens“) • Data networks with SMBs are usually used without network management, i.e. there is no knowledge of possible bottlenecks and development • There are products of many different manufacturers in a network • Many diverse applications run on the network • Convergent networks will be perceived as uncertainty

What is XNereus? • XNereus is a web-based platform for cost-efficient network monitoring • XNereus is a server appliance • XNereus is a Software system, that enables users to analyse interpret and report quality information within any convergent network-structures, based on standards. • XNereus is based on a hardened LINUX-system • XNereus places ITK-suppliers in the position to analyse their networks for Voice-over-IP-Readiness.

  7. Fast Configuration / AutoDruid • In case of selecting the network browsing the finishing time will be different. • After the search you see all systems were found. Grey deposed systems are already configured. Others systems must be selected. • Name resolution can be started with or after the search. • The results are displayed until you save them or you discard the output from the AutoDruid.

Which systems will be monitored? • Network components: Switches, Router, Gateways, communication servers (e.g. Netgear, Alcatel, HP, Cisco, Siemens) • End devices: PCs, servers, printers, voice-equipment (e.g. Windows (2000 and 2003); LINUX, HP printer, devices with SNMP (e.g. Siemens Open Stage, OptiPoint IP), Printserver) • Applications: (e.g. Webserver, Mailserver, telefone systems with SNMP like HiPath 2000, Omni PCX Enterprise) Everything that speaks IP !

Function description Function description: • XNereus is set up modularly, so that different measuring methods can be added and combined. • XNereus records the network performance of different services to convergent fixed networks (LAN, MAN and WAN) • XNereus records the network performance for different services in mobile networks as well • XNereus measures in both networks mentioned above through an intelligent combination of active and passive procedures • XNereus uses communication protocols to record the functionality of communication services (FTP, HTTP, SIP, etc.)
