  2. Drill • What are the steps of the scientific method?

  3. Objectives • SWBAT • Summarize the history and purpose of forensic science. • Use the scientific method to save Carl.

  4. Pd. 3 • Continue working on your summary of Chapter 1. If you need to know the sections, let Ms. Bloedorn know. • Groups will be called to do data entry.

  5. Save Wormy Carl! • Carl’s boat capsized and he is trapped on top. • Sadly, his life saver is under the boat! • You can’t use your hands. • Goal: Get Carl in a lifesaver and back in his boat

  6. Save Carl! • Pick up • a gummi worm (Carl) • a gummi life saver • one paperclip • a cup • At your desk, use these materials to get the lifesaver around Carl’s middle. • Note: You cannot pierce Carl or the life saver!

  7. Set-up like so!

  8. Closure • Describe the steps you took to save Carl, with reference to the steps of the scientific method.
