  3. Recommended Uses • Sending videos to either accompany news releases or instead of them • Podcasts for interviews/sound bites and quotes • Blogs detailing the progress of a new invention for example we could have kept a blog diary for the hydrogen tour. • Home pages • Other peoples blogs

Community Relations / Crisis • Praxair have been using new media for this function. • In 2005 one of their chemical plants in St. Louis blew up. • This is just one of many videos circling the internet either via Youtube or featured on news websites. • How did they combat this? How could you rectify the damage the extra publicity from the general public caused? • The answer?

  5. What we’ve done so far… • Facebook • Podcasts • How much further can we go….?

Making new media work for us • The Hydrogen Tour US is a prime example • We released a video which was featured on YouTube • But guess what….so did Linde – in the same corporate fashion. • Our ‘unofficial’ communications team were also releasing videos. • There are loads of videos of the tour from many different sources

  7. Material • We have webcast’s available featuring high level employees – why are we keeping this information to ourselves? • We could film our load movements from our point of view and encourage the ‘watchers’ to do the same • The science demo from the LHSC • Science Ambassador micro site. Video.
