Box #1: Physical Geography TERMS Australian Outback Interior Exterior • ____________________ region (Australia); ____________________ region (Oceania; Micronesia; Melanesia); Polynesia); ____________________ region (The Australian Outback) • Sea levels rising • Region dominated by water • Leaves many nations of this region vulnerable • Many businesses will be forced to move to less vulnerable locations • Land use in the region • Permanent vegetation (SE) • Wheat Belt (SW & SE) • Grazing and farming (N, NE, E, & near coastline) • Tropical Fruit (E. Coastline) • Forest/Woodland (SE/SW Coasts) • Dry and rugged with little land use (Interior and much of western Australia)
