  1. The True Face of Tobacco is Disease, Horror and Death •  6 million deaths worldwide each year due to tobacco •  Approximately 10 people die from a tobacco related diseases every minute • Smoking increases the risk of more than 60 diagnoses •  Tobacco use is the predominant cause ofmany public health diseases

  2. Cancers • Tobacco smoke contains more than 7,000 chemicals. About 70 of them are known to cause cancer. Smoking cigarettes is the number-one risk factor for lung cancer. But, smoking can affect your entire body and cause more than 18 type of cancers.

  3. Heart Disease • The chemicals in tobacco smoke harm your blood cells and damage the function of your heart. This damage increases your risk for Atherosclerosis, Cardiovascular disease, Aneurysms,etc..

  4. Diabetes • Smokers are 30–40% more likely to develop type 2 diabetes than nonsmokers.The more cigarettes you smoke, the higher your risk for type 2 diabetes & it is harder to control.

  5. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease • COPD is a progressive and eventually debilitating lung disease. Tobacco smoke and secondhand smoke travel, like the air you breathe, is the primary cause of COPD.

  6. Cervical Diseases • If you smoke, you are more likely to develop squamous cell cervical cancer. The risk of cervical cancer increased in women who were smokers and in women who were exposed to secondhand smoke too.

  7. Eye Diseases • Smoking is as bad for your eyes as it is for the rest of your body. Research has linked smoking to an increased risk of developing age-related macular degeneration, cataract, and optic nerve damage, all of which can lead to blindness & other eye diseases.

  8. Low Bone Density • Smoking is one of many factors—including weight, alcohol consumption, and activity level—that increase your risk for osteoporosis, a condition in which bones weaken and become more likely to fracture.
