Wilson • Goal: • Provide off-axis Co-CD to assist ICRF Transport Barrier Formation • Background: • Threshold power level of NBI and ICRF heating for ITB formation on JET was reduced with the early application of off-axis LH CD • Set-up of reverse shear with off-axis CD may similarly facilitate ITB formation in C-MOD, as well as possibly stabilizing the sawtooth instability by raising core q

  2. Experimental Set-up: • Choose from Wilson/Bernabei MP’s best conditions for off-axis CD • Scan ICRF power, timing, LHCD phase • Examine ITB effects • Special Diagnostics: • MSE • Xrays • Expected Outcome: • LH scenarios to obtain ITB’s • AT profiles • Sawtooth stabilization
