  6. PPF Interest Calculation Process • The starting balance will be zero.  When you deposit an amount of Rs.5000/-, then the closing amount will be Rs.5405/- i.e. (Closing amount = deposit amount + Rate of Interest) • Deposit amount = 5000/- Rate of Interest= 8.10% then  Interest = 5000*8.10/100                           = 405/- • Therefore the Closing amount will get by adding Deposit Amount and Rate of Interest. Thus, the closing amount at the end of the first year is Rs.5405/-. • For remaining years also the same procedure will be done for calculating the year ending closing amount. If the investor invests 5,000/- in the first year i.e. from March 5th, 2016 to the March 5th, 2030 which is the last 15th year. Then the PPF Loan Interest calculation is below. • According to the rules, the user can take a loan with the minimum of 25% of the balance that is available in the 1st year of the investor's PPF Account. After that, there is no facility to take a loan. • Next year i.e. 2018 is the 3rd year the investor will be eligible to apply for a loan. • The Investor has opened his/her account on March 5th, 2016. Then 2016-17  is the financial year. • As earlier mentioned that Loan period is from 3rd year to till 6th year. • Loan Amount for the Third year = 25% of 1st year closing amount • = 5405 * 25/100=1351/- • =1351/- Powered by www.ppfcalculators.com
