Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS) Designed to reduce the potential impact of new and existing developments with respect to surface water drainage discharge and entails a sequence of practices and facilities. These practices, rely on natural processes like evaporation, infiltration, and plant transpiration, and can effectively and affordably complement traditional “grey” infrastructure, and provide a wide range of benefits. SuDS substantially reduce the overall amount of water entering local storm sewers or surface waters and reduce flooding related impacts.
