Ice Breaker • Engineering Design: • Focus on Environmentalism • Plant 10 trees for every pair • Display cases made with reclaimed wood • Print materials have 5 different eco-certifications • Pouches made via micro financing • Donate 1% of profits to sustainability initiatives • What do you guys think? • How would you design a product and company?

Hunger banquet update (May 2nd at 6 pm: mark yo’ calendas) • My peeps are getting speakers • My peeps are getting food donated • We’re teaming up with EWB Kansas City professional chapter (hopefully!) • Social Event aww yeeeeahhh • THIS SATURDAY at 6 pm at Templin • We’re watching Frozen! • If you want to pool money together for pizza, bring $5. No money, no pizza. Easy peasy. • BYOB: Bring your own blanket • BYOM: Bring your own mug (for tea idk) • BYO$: Bring your own money (for pizza!) • BYOF: Bring your own friends <3 FEWB: Freshmen Engineers with Brains

    7. What: Fundraiser for American Cancer Society When: April 25th-26th 6 p.m.-2 a.m. Where: Memorial Stadium $10 registration fee *Contact Meg Huwe (913)952-8403 or m930h851@ku.edu if interested in joining a team or starting your own Relay for Life

    8. Saturday, April 12, 2014 • 10am-2pm • Common tasks: raking leaves, trimming trees, cleaning houses, and planting plants at Lawrence schools, community organizations, and public spaces. • Sign up at back or room and I’ll take care of registration! The Big Event

Replant Mount Oread • Each year campus loses trees due to removal, disease, and age at a faster rate than they are being replaced. • Stauffer-Flint lawn, April 11 • KU Rain Garden • Native Kansas plants filter the runoff from the Rec Center roof and sidewalks. • Spring maintenance project • Last weekend in March, Time TBA please sign up anyway! Save these Dates

    19. Extraordinary EWBers Professor Bob Lyon is a professional engineer with a lifetime of experience from living in Russia to being a Kansas State Senator. Hailing from Portland, Oregon, Bethany Foran has extensive EWB experience and is a civil engineer currently working at Black and Veatch. She is also knowledgeable of five different languages! David Hoffman has numerous experiences with EWB as he has worked extensively with Missouri S&T as well as Florida International University. He is also an award winning professional engineer with a lifetime of personal experiences.
