  2. Ugotovitev temperature prehoda žilavo/krhko Pri izračunani srednji vrednosti udarne žilavosti potegnemo horizontalno črto in poiščemo presečišče z dano krivuljo. Temperatura pri presečišču je temperatura prehoda žilavo/krhko. Temperatura prehoda žilavo-krhko se zmanjšuje z večanjem koncentracije Mn. Najprimernejše jeklo za uporabo pri temperaturi –20 °C je jeklo z 1,55 % Mn. To je jeklo, ki ima izmed teh najnižjo temperaturo prehoda žilavo-krhko.
