CORS receiver maintenance • GNSS receiver • Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) • Battery maintenance (keep maintenance log) • Receiver location • Protect cable connections • Select a location that is away from the main traffic area of the room • Near power source • Secure cables • Document firmware updates • Inform NGS if site is a National CORS • Surge protection • Properly grounded • Display contact information

  4. CORS antenna maintenance • GNSS antenna • Keep antenna surface clean • Confirm orientation of antenna • Monitor condition of radome (if installed) • Lighting protection • Grounded properly • Cable connections protected from rain/snow • Antenna cable • Connections (sealed properly) • Check for sun damage • Routing

  5. CORS hardware maintenance • Hardware maintenance • Monumentation/mounting • Damage from elements • Indications of tampering with mounting device

  6. Site maintenance • Any new obstructions • Buildings • Towers • Fences • Any new signal transmitters • Stability • Any construction activity near CORS • Update photos (submit to NGS if the site is a National CORS)

  7. Monumentation maintenance • Ground monumentation • Check for: • Damage • Parking or traffic patterns • Indication of new construction near site

  8. Monumentation (building mount) • Building mount • Any damage to fasteners • Any damage from rain/snow • Evidence of tampering • Tools required for maintenance • Lift truck • Ladder

  9. CORS administration • IT security • Latency • Bandwidth • Transmission medium • Router and switch performance • Firewall • Wireless network voice/data traffic • Servers • Age • Capacity • Maintenance up to date
