  7. Map Terms • Compass Rose • Displays the Directions • Legend or Key • Explains the symbols on the map. • Scale Bar • Demonstrates distance and scale.

  8. Map Projections • It is not useful to use a globe for travel or reference…therefore: • The surface of the Globe is removed and stretched out on a flat surface so it can be used. • Each of them have advantages and disadvantages.
