Searching for Devices DM Interface Use the search tool to locate one or more devices Search by Device ID or Network Address Enter the entire identifier or a partial identifier, and click Search • Not case sensitive • No wild cards accepted
Viewing and Saving Search Results DM Interface If the search results in a single device found, the Device Details page opens for that device • This type of search cannot be saved If the search results in multiple devices found, the Device List page opens listing all devices that matched the search • To save the search, click Save in the Search Tab
Viewing and Using Saved Searches DM Interface View saved searches on Dashboard View list of saved searches including filters by clicking Saved by the Search box Run searches by clicking Search Name link 1 2 3
Working with Devices Section Three
Manage the display of your devices using searches, filtering, sorting, and mapping operations. • View detailed information about devices using the Device Details page. • Perform actions on displayed devices using the Devices and Device Details pages. Section Three Objectives
Viewing Devices on the Devices Page Working with Devices View devices on a map or in a list Select devices on which to perform actions Hover over column header to sort by that data Modify the column display order Use filters to narrow the list of devices All devices in the FlexNet system are listed
Filtering Devices on the Devices Page Use the Filter Devices panel to locate a device or set of devices on which you want to perform an action To filter the list: • Click the green arrow to open/close the filter category • Select from the options • Device list automatically updates Working with Devices
Filtering Options Working with Devices Click to reset filter options to default settings Items currently being used for filtering are checked
Customizing the Filtering Options Working with Devices In the Filter Devices panel, click Customize Filters Items currently being used for filtering Drag and drop to reorder the display of filter options Drag and drop to add or remove filter options from display Click to set selections as the default display

Working with Groups and Tags Section Four
List the three group types. • Describe how devices can be added to a group. • Identify actions that can be performed on the Groups page. • Describe the purpose of tags. • Identify the difference between a group and a tag. Section Four Objectives
About Device Groups The Groups menu provides a method for organizing sets of devices for viewing and management DM groups are: • Logical groups defined by geographical area, a specific operation, or other criteria • Organized by type: Billing, Operations, and Other • Local to the DM software; do not reflect groups created in the RNI FlexWare UI Groups and Tags
About Device Groups (Continued) Add devices to a group by: • Importing a flat file of IDs • Manually adding IDs • Using DM to search and filter for devices in system Devices can be assigned to multiple groups Groups and Tags
Using the Device Groups Page Groups and Tags Create a new group Hover over headers to sort groups Perform an action on selected group(s) Search for a group Map devices in the group Click Group Name link to view devices in group Delete a group (if permitted)
About Tags Tags provide another method for filtering, browsing or searching for devices Unlikegroups in that tags are not billing or operational in nature Use a non-hierarchical keyword or term Describe attribute or characteristic about a device User defined and managed Created for temporary, short term usage Added to device filter options Groups and Tags
Using Tags to Search Groups and Tags In the Filter Devices section, select the desired tag In the System Settings, select the Manage Tags tab to view all tags
