Over view… • Our object is to use marbles to raise a flag and keep the energy going and start the next Rube Goldberg Device.
How it runs… • Starts with the other groups mouse trap. • That pulls a string to Release marbles down a funnel. • Those in turn roll down PVC pipe to spin a wheel, which will raise our flag.
How it runs…continued… • The marbles will continue to roll down another piece of PVC pipe into a basket. • The basket will drop, which pulls a string to raise another pulley. • This will raise another PVC pipe which will release another marble to roll down and start the next device.
The numbers… • Mgh=1/2mv^2 v=5.43ft/sec • Mgh+1/2mv^2 =1/2mv^2 v=8.667ft/sec • Mv(sin())=8.667ft/sec v=8.667ft/sec • Mgh+1/2mv^2 =1/2mv^2 v=5.065ft/sec • m1v1+m2v2=(m1+m2)v3 v3=2.5975ft/sec • 1/2mv^2 =10.488ft/sec
Conclusion… • After many trails and a few modifications our device and a few runs to Chick Fil A our device was a complete success.
