  • Crime – UCR stats released 09/24/07

    • The only property crime to increase in 2006 over 2005! Up 1.3% by volume

    • As many as 60% of completed home burglaries involve entry through an unlocked door or window!

  • Victim

    • $4 billion in lost property in crimes reported in 2006

    • Only 15% of property crimes cleared by arrest

  • Offender

    • Motivations now include identity theft, meth use

    • Lock bumping
