  2. What is the QEP? • Quality Enhancement Plan • Mandated by SACS for reaccreditation • A plan to enhance student learning • A five-year project, beginning in 2006

  3. What is the QEP? • QEP topic=Information Fluency • The UCF Libraries submitted a proposal which was selected by the University to be the QEP topic

  15. Information Literacy & Outreach Departmental Mission: To develop and implement a comprehensive program to embed information literacy knowledge and skills across the curriculum.

  17. Information Literacy & Outreach Departmental Scope (continued): Responsible for • Support of the Information Fluency QEP through coordination with appropriate university units • Outreach and marketing of the libraries’ information services

Information Literacy • More than just Library Instruction, this is a new focus for the UCF Libraries • "the ability to locate, evaluate, and use information to become independent life-long learners" Commission on Colleges, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
