  2. Divide a Decimal by a 1-digit Number Dividing a decimal by a whole number is similar to dividing whole numbers.

  3. Divide a Decimal by a 2-digit Number Decimals never have remainders. If you have a remainder, annex a zero and continue dividing.

  4. On Your Own… Divide. Round to the nearest tenth if necessary. • 39.39 ÷ 3 • 9.6 ÷ 2 • 69.904 ÷ 34

  6. Dividing by Decimals When dividing by decimals, change the divisor into a whole number. To do this, multiply both the divisor and the dividend by the same power of 10. Then divide as with whole numbers.
