Levers can be classified into three different types or classes.
First Class Levers • In a Class 1 lever, the fulcrum is between the effort and the load. EFL LFE
First Class Levers • Examples of common tools (and other items) that use a type 1 lever include:
Second Class Levers • In Class 2 levers, the load is between the fulcrum and the effort. ELF FLE
Second Class Levers Examples of common tools that use a type 2 lever include:
Third Class Levers • In Class 3 levers, the effort is between the fulcrum and the load. LEF FEL
