PDC FOCUS for 2011-12

The Professional Development Committee will work to provide a variety of learning opportunities& formatsto teachers designed to improve instructional effectiveness and student achievement in alignment with the district strategic plan/CSIP.

The Park Hill PDC uses the National Staff Development Council (NSDC) Standards to guide our focus.

NSDC STANDARDS

Nine standards in three areas:

  • Context standards
  • Process standards
  • Content standards

  • Each building/site is represented on PDC
    • 3 representatives—High schools
    • 2 representatives--Middle schools
    • 1 rep—Elementary & special schools
    • 1 rep—Administrator from each level

  • Regular education teachers

  • Develop a plan & budget in alignment with CSIP

  • Serve as an On-site Advisor for new teachers in their buildings
