  11. C. Taking Two Looks At TheExxon Valdez Oil Spill Both are credible sources as far as author/organization, although some may regard NOAA more credible than Wikipedia

  12. Exxon Valdez Oil Spill On March 24, 1989, the tanker Exxon Valdez grounded on Bligh Reef in Alaska's Prince William Sound, rupturing its hull and spilling nearly 11 million gallons of Prudhoe Bay crude oil into a remote, scenic, and biologically productive body of water. It was the largest single oil spill in U.S. coastal waters. C. Looking At Currency Of NOAA Site Live Link NOAA makes no mention of Gulf Oil Spill of 2010. First published on January 30, 2008, and last revised on January 29, 2010.E-mail Emergency Response Division (ERD) | DisclaimerWeb site owner: Office of Response and Restoration | NOAA's Ocean Service | National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration | US Department of Commerce | USA.gov

  13. Exxon Valdez oil spill …occurred in Prince William Sound, Alaska, on March 24, 1989, when the Exxon Valdez, an oil tanker bound for Long Beach, California, struck Prince William Sound's Bligh Reef and spilled 260,000 to 750,000 barrels (41,000 to 119,000 m3) ofcrude oil.[1][2] It is considered to be one of the most devastating human-causedenvironmental disasters ever to occur in history.[3]As significant as the Valdez spill was — the largest ever in U.S. waters until the 2010 Deepwater Horizonoil spill — it ranks well down on the list of the world's largest oil spills in terms of volume released.[4] C. Looking At Currency Of Wikipedia Site Wikipedia mentions the Gulf Oil Spill of 2010. Live Link Revision on 08/29/10

  14. Is Currency Important If Researching Recent Oil Spills? In this case, yes!

  15. C. The Winner For Currency This could change anytime after the date this presentation was created. NOAA may be more credible, but their last revision in January 2010 did not include the Gulf Oil Spill.
