  2. Teaching Steps • Ask the students to form pairs and discuss thhe questions in their books. • Bring the students’ attention to the Language Focus box and tell them that they can use the sentences and structures in the box in answering the questions.

  3. Part One Questions for Discussion (1) • Do you think the school is the best place of learning for children? Why or why not? • What is the purpose of education? What do you think is quality education? • What does home-schooling mean? • Do you think it is better to eaducate children at home or at school? Why?

  4. Part One Questions for Discussion (2) • Why do you think some parents prefer home-schooling for their children? • What are the advantages of home- schooling? What are its disadvantages? • How does school education differ from home-schooling? • Would you prefer to study at home or at school? Why?

Language Focus • Schools have been in existence for centuries as suitable places to educate students. • In some countries, a wide variety of materials are available, covering every subject on the school curriculum. • Some home-school programs offer complete curriculum packages, and issue a diploma upon completion.

  6. Language Focus • Home-schooled students are reported to do exceptionally well compared to students at public schools. • By quality education we mean to train students to be creative and imaginative / responsible to society, work, and family. • School education is more disciplined, organized, standard, comprehensive, as opposed to home-schooling.
