Intruders. Based on a true story!!. A TALE by Andy Meyer. I was fifteen, the second of six kids, and the only girl in my family who didn’t have a date on Saturday. That made me the built-in babysitter for my two little bothers – I mean brothers. My parents thought they were little angels.

  1. Intruders Based on a true story!! A TALE by Andy Meyer

  2. I was fifteen, the second of six kids, and the only girl in my family who didn’t have a date on Saturday. That made me the built-in babysitter for my two little bothers – I mean brothers.

  3. My parents thought they were little angels. I knew better!

  4. I not only had Bob and Mike to watch, I also had Mike’s friend Joey. Babysitting was going to be terrible!

  5. All I wanted to do that night was watch the Miss America Pageant. All my brothers wanted was to make my life miserable. In no time, they were succeeding.

  6. I finally decided it was better to join them, so we sat around the fireplace and told spooky stories until… the lights began to flicker on and off.

  7. Our dog Ven began to act strangely. Inside, he growled. Outside, he ran back and forth and barked at the house. That is when we heard footsteps on the roof.

  8. I ran outside to see what he was barking at, but saw nothing. The lights flickered again. The boys had disappeared. I knew they were up to something.

  9. I burst into their bedroom and yelled, “Where is he?” Three frightened kids looked back. Bob wasn’t on the roof. But someone was!

  10. When I called my parents at their dinner party they said they would come right home.

  11. Joey called his dad to come get him. But just as he finished the words, the phone went dead. Now we were all terrified!

  12. But, I was the babysitter! I would do whatever it took to keep them safe. And I knew where my dad had hidden his pellet gun!

  13. There were no pellets, but that was okay. I was the only one who would know my gun was empty!

  14. I` stood at the front door, poised to shoot anyone who came through! No one would get past me. I sent the boys out the back door where they would be safe.

  15. Suddenly, headlights appeared in the driveway. Joey ran out to meet his dad. My parents had come home too. We were safe!

  16. Joey’s dad flashed a search light at the roof. Now we would see who was trying to break in.

  17. Two black-masked bandits stared back.
