  1. The Dooars or Duars (in Bengali & Nepali) are the floodplains and foothills of the Eastern Himalayas in North-East India around Bhutan. Duar means door in Nepali  and Bengali languages, and the region forms the gateway to Bhutan from India.

  2. Dooars – the foothills of Himalaya “Dooars” the word is derived from the word ‘duar’ or ‘door’. The name signifies its location as a gateway to the hill stations of North Bengal & Sikkim as well as Bhutan and Assam. The 130 X 40 sq.km
