  2. My Real World Question • Kristin and her four friends went to the zoo. The ticket costs $15.00, and the parking fee is $3.00. With this being said, how much money would be needed?

  3. The Equation • The equation is as follows: 15x+3=y X= number of friends Y= money needed

  4. Independent and Dependent • The independent variable is the x value. • The dependent variable is the y value. • The money needed to go to the zoo(y) depends on the number friends(x).

  5. Is it a Function? • This would definitely be a function because the (x) values don’t repeat.

  6. Is it Continuous or Discrete? • This graph is discrete because it skips the numbers between the whole numbers.

  7. Table of Values

  8. Domain and Range • Domain is the x values only • Range is the y values only My domain would be{1,2,3,4,5} My range would be{18,33,48,63,78}

  9. Graphing the Scenario

  10. The Answers • The conclusion is that the cost per ticket is $15.00, so multiply by five because there are four friends along with Kristin. • And you don’t want to forget the parking fee, so with the total($75.00), add $3.00. Therefore the grand total would be $78.00.
