  5. Curriculum • Year long emphasis on • Problem solving • Writing about math • Quick pace • Homework nearly every night • Quiz or test nearly every week

  6. Period 8, A day (help session) Period 8, B day depending upon student schedule After school Monday and Thursday Special arrangements can be made Extra Help

  7. Homework • Reinforces classroom lessons • Average of 30 minutes per night • If sustained, concentrated effort exceeds 30 minutes, STOP • Have student deliver a parent note to me • Have student talk with me outside of class period about situation

  8. Homework • 15% of overall grade • Should boost test and quiz components of grade • Counted as either complete or incomplete • Not accepted more than a week late • Student must see me period 8 or after school to complete late homework and receive credit

  9. Absences • Student’s responsibility to • Ask me for notes or class handouts • Schedule time with me to go over the material • Schedule time with me to correct homework • Schedule time to make up test or quiz • Use web site to see homework assigned
