  2. The human body is kept alive by many systems working together. Those systems work all the time even when you are asleep. Z Z Z

  3. The function of the circulatory system is to transport oxygen, nutrients, and wastes through the body in the blood. Its main parts are the heart, blood vessels, and the blood. Label those parts.

  4. The digestive system’s function is to break down food into nutrients and get the nutrients into the blood. The esophagus, stomach, small intestine and large intestine are important parts of the digestive system. Label those parts.

  5. The respiratory system’s function is to take in oxygen so that the blood (red blood cells) can take it all over your body. The respiratory system also exhales the carbon dioxide which is a waste from cells. It’s main parts are the trachea, bronchi, and lungs. Label these parts on the diagram.

  6. The Muscular System’s function is to provide your body with movement. There are three kinds of muscles: voluntary, smooth, and cardiac. • What kind of muscles do you see in the diagram? • Give an example of a smooth muscle. • Give an example of a cardiac muscle.

  7. The function of the Skeletal System is to provide shape, protection, and support for your body. Of course, the main organs in the skeletal system are the bones. Name two others. ___________ _________

  8. Muscles are attached to bones by tendons. Bones are attached to each other by ligaments. Label the tendon and the ligament in the knee joint.
