  1. Guidelines for Singing Bhajans Understand the significance of singing bhajans first. Lead bhajans only if you can sing to proper scale and have good voice. Select simple, short bhajans. Make sure the bhajans you select suit your voice. Select only a few bhajans. Please do not attempt to sing all the bhajans that are printed on a bhajan book. Register the lyrics and tune of the bhajan very well. Express Not Impress No Bhava No Baba Learn the meaning of each and every word in the bhajan. Meditate on the meaning and connect to the bhajan. Create a story for the bhajan, if possible. Practice the bhajan several hundred times before leading in a Sai center. Practicing in a group forum is very essential for fine tuning your singing. Eat Satwic food at least on the day of the bhajan. Keep yourself and your dress clean while attending bhajans. Arrive at the venue of the bhajan well before the start of the bhajan. Devotion No Emotion EGO Maintain silence before the start of the bhajan. When you get your opportunity to lead a bhajan, start crisply with the full focus on the Lord. Sing with the deepest feeling of love for the Lord. Follow from the bottom of your heart, when others are leading. Please do not interrupt the flow of the bhajan by talking to others or getting up while the bhajan is going on. After the bhajan, do not indulge in small talk. Maintain silence, meditate on the vibrations and return home quietly. EGO - He Goes From Sai Bhajan Workshop blessed by Swami "The Ananda (joy) I derive from bhajans, I do not derive from anything else."
