  2. To tell the time in Spanish… (hour) (# minutes) • You say: “Son las ______ y _____.” • Example: • 7:30 = Son las siete y treinta. • 12:04 = Son las doce y cuatro

  6. The more complicated stuff… • To say it’s 1:00, you use the phrase “Es la una” • For all other hours, you use “son las” • Use CUARTO for a quarter of an hour • Use MEDIA for half an hour • use y + minsup to the ½ hour • Use menos + minsafter the ½ hour
