  5. Stop Cruelty for Dogs!

  6. There are seven states that are known as puppy mill states: • Missouri • Nebraska • Kansas • Iowa • Arkansas • Oklahoma • Pennsylvania

  7. Examples of mills in Missouri

  8. The dogs are kept in small wire cages for their entire lives. They never touch solid ground or grass to run and play

  9. Many dogs lose feet and legs when they get caught in the wire cage floors and struggle to get free.

  10. Puppy mills maximize their profits by not spending adequate money on proper food, housing, or vet care.

  11. Dogs in puppy mills are debarked often by ramming a steel rod down their throats to rupture their vocal cords!

  12. Facts: • Puppies are taken from their mother as early as 5 weeks old. • They are sold to brokers who pack them in crates to sell to pet stores all over the country. • Approximately 3,500 pet stores in the U.S. sell puppies and they sell about 500,000 puppies a year. • The puppy industry in Missouri is valued at 40 million dollars a year.

  13. What you can do!! • Pet stores often tell customers that their puppies came from local breeders or quality breeders. DO NOT BELIEVE THEM!!! • Ask to see the paperwork and find out where the puppies really come from. • If the people in the U.S. refused to buy a puppy from a pet store, the misery of puppy mills would end.

  14. LOOK INTO THEIR EYES….

  15. NEVER BUY A DOG FROM A PET STORE! MAKE A PROMISE TO THESE DOGS THAT NO DOG WILL EVER SUFFER THE WAY THAT THEY DID. PROMISE THEM THAT THE MISERY WILL END.

  16. BOYCOTT PETSTORES THAT SELL PUPPIES!!
