  3. Western Africa: Vocab • Supply- a quanity of a good, product, or resource that people are willing and able to sell • Demand- people’s desire for and willingness to buy that particular item • Items that are common have low value • Items that are scarce have high value

Western Africa: Vocab • Griot- Songhai person who told stories and sang songs about historical events and traditions • Sunjata- prince who lead Mali to power, accepted Islam, made a salt and gold trade • Mansa Musa- greatest rulers of Mali • Sunni Ali- great ruler of Songhai, brilliant military leader • Askia Muhammad- Songhai reached greatest power under his rule
