  1. Evolution By: Broccan Ware

  2. The history of evolution It all started when Charles Darwin formulated his idea of natural selection in 1838. He was still developing his theory in 1858 when Alfred Wallace sent him a similar theory. These were later presented the Linnaean Society of London in separate papers. Later, in the end of 1859, Darwin’s publication on the Origin of Species explained natural selection in detail. Darwin realized that he could not explain how traits were inherited in a predictable manner.

  3. His theory • Darwin’s theory of evolution include: • The premise • Natural Selection • Slowly but surely • And a theory in crisis

  4. The premise • Darwin’s theory is the held notion that all life is related and has descended from a common ancestor. His theory presumes the development of life from non-life and stresses a purely naturalistic “descent of modification.” Complex creatures evolve from more simplistic ancestors over time. A process known as natural selection, is when inn a nutshell random genetic mutations occur within the organism’s code that is genetic, beneficial mutations are preserved because its for there aid of survival

  5. Natural Selection Ancient Greek philosophers such as Anaximander postulated the development of life even from non-life and the evolutionary change of a man from animal. Charles Darwin explored this theory from the philosopher and extended the theory, a mechanism called natural selection. Natural selection acts to preserve and accumulate minor advantageous genetic mutations

  6. Slowly but surely….. • Darwin’s theory of evolution is a very slow gradual process. Darin wrote in his theory “Natural selection acts only by taking advantage of slight successive variations; she can never take a great step and sudden leap, but must advance by short and sure, though slow steps.” . If it could be demonstrated that any complex organ existed, which could not possibly have been formed by numerous, successive, slight modifications, my theory would absolutely break down.”

  7. A theory in crises For a start, we know that there tens of thousands of complex systems in the cellular level. Darwin confessed saying “To suppose that the eye with all its inimitable contrivances for adjusting the focus to different distances, for admitting different amounts of light, and for the correction of spherical and chromatic aberration, could have been formed by natural selection, seems, I freely confess, absurd in the highest degree.” Darwins theory of evolution is in crises in light of the advances we’ve made in molecular biology.
