Today’s Objectives • Discuss assessment of School-wide PBIS • Fidelity of each component • PBIS / CORE team evaluation • Classroom Support of School-wide efforts • Introduce participants to various evaluation forms/options • Effective Behavior Supports Survey • Team Process Evaluation • AzSET • Benchmarks of Quality • PBIS satisfaction Survey • Interview and Observation Form (from EBS) • Classroom Observation

  3. Why the Interest in Measuring Your Program? • PBIS is an evidence-based program based on research and best practices • Check you school’s fidelity to the program • Use data to fine tune your program, justify spending, achieve the maximum results

  4. Effective Behavior Supports Survey There are 12 questions on this shortened version of the Effective Behavior Supports Survey ------------- ACTIVITY------------- Reflecting on your own school’s PBIS program, take a moment to answer these questions

  5. Group Discussion • How might a principal or school PBIS team use this tool? • What benefits could a school realize in using a survey like this? • How could you modify this survey to help gain even more information?

  6. Effective Behavior Supports Survey • Conducted annually – preferably in the Spring • Completed by ALL staff • Use results to design annual action plan • Survey available in Spanish • Available at www.pbis.org

  13. Interview and Observation Form This gives a snap shot of how your PBIS reinforcements are being perceived by staff and students, and the degree to which they are integrated into the school’s culture.

  14. Walk Through Observation Designed by U of A PBIS trainers to examine if what is happening in the classrooms is reflective of school-wide PBIS program and goals. Will be available: www.protectiveschools.org
