In groups of 3 create a city of the future. • Create a name for your city. • Select a location for your city. • Draw a city layout/describe buildings. • Create an organized structure (civilization) for your city. Remember: How would your people get food? What different social levels do people have? How will your city be run? What laws will it have? What religion/beliefs/morals will your people follow? How will the arts be represented in your city? What kind of technology will you have? What is your system of record keeping? What does it look like?

  15. Write one paragraph describing the 2 leaders below. Who would you rather have be your leader? Leader # 1 Leader #2 One time, a group of kids was caught stealing apples. They were reported to the leader who was upset ordered them buried alive with holes for air and some water so they could "eat each other and live longer". He ordered that the last survivor be set free and given some gold. Your leader is so confident about his Kingdom's honesty that he placed a golden cup in the center of a public plaza. Thousands used the plaza daily and the cup remained there throughout his reign. The punishment for a thief was death.

He walks out in front, the leader, and walks at the rear, trusted by his companions. Mighty net, protector of his people, raging flood wave who destroys even walls of stone! Two thirds of him is god, one third of him is human.

Your group’s task will be to choose essential pieces of information that tell us about the Assyrian Empire. Your group will create a poster sized visual to show the class the important facts found within your reading (at least 6 pieces of information).
