TEVET: Fighting Poverty through Employment • Tevet is an Israeli non-profit partnership between JDC and the Israeli Ministry of Industry Trade and Employment. • Created in 2005 to help 750,000 chronically unemployed Israelis enter the workforce. • Target Populations: Immigrants, Disabled, Minorities, Young Adults Without Support, Jewish Ultra Orthodox.

  3. Without 2 B in Israel ALL ASSISTANCE RENDERED IN ISRAEL ONLY • New Immigrants/Returning Citizens to Israel receive: • Ulpan Hebrew course • Absorption package • Customs and Housing benefits • Health and Education benefits • Employment Assistance • Entrepreneurship Assistance

  4. 2 B in Israel: Intervention • Business consultation provided to business owners and entrepreneurs while still abroad. • Consultations provided by highly qualified professionals in the native language of returning citizen/immigrant • Once in Israel, consultation continues to ensure success

  6. How it Works: Client enters www.2binisrael.org.il Completes questionnaire and transferred to Business IL Business owner:New Entrepreneur: Adapting current Start-up costs and business to Israelmarket feasibility Visit to Israel - Consultations

  12. Examples • Ms. Kitie Spearer: Age 35. Returned to Israel from France after 7.5 years. Learned perfumery and aromatherapy. Idea: Produce perfume with Israeli products and orientation to Jewish philosophy. • Boaz Berney: Age 32, returned to Israel after 10 years in Holland where he learned ancient music and flute building. Idea: Flute production workshop and music lessons. Exports wooden flutes to US, Europe and Japan.
