  2. Introduction Photography has been used for centuries to help capture special moments in our history and culture. It has evolved tremendously over the past 200 years starting with steel templates to storing photographs on solid state media.

Task • Through your webquest you will be exploring the evolution of the camera and photography. • During your quest you will be completing a photograph scavenger hunt of varying style photographs. • You may find it helpful to take more than one photo of each to ensure you have an excellent photograph.

  5. Process • Research photography by visiting the various websites. (Complete the worksheet given) • View styles of photography to help make one of your own. • Take 3 different styles of photographs E-Mail them to me for grading. • Candid • Depth of Field • Silhouette

  7. Evaluation • All 3 photos should resemble the given style. (Candid, Silhouette, and Depth Of Field) • Accuracy (20 points) • All 3 styles (20 points) • Originality (20 points) • Developed properly and on time (20 points) • Worksheets and class participation (20 Points)

  9. Evaluation Example 2 Depth Of Field • Notice how the focus is on the sales tag and the shirts in the background are blurry.

  10. Evaluation Example 3 Silhouette • Notice how the object is dark and the background is lit.

  11. Conclusion Once all photos have been turned in together we will put on a show of our best work. Student evaluations will be done to help determine some of the best photos in the class. I hope through your journey you have gained a better insight of how to shoot photographs and how photography has developed and preserved cultures and history.
