  5. Consumer Registration Process (The Front End)

  6. Login Screen To register for Internet Banking, consumers should click the link found on your financial institution’s login screen. NOTE: The location of this link as well as the verbiage for the link is customizable. Example of a Home Page login screen Example of a Standard login screen

  7. Welcome Screen The consumer is presented with a welcome screen.

  8. Step 1: Complete the Registration Form • Tool Tips allow you to give your consumers formatting requirements, e.g. NNNNNNNNN for the SSN field. • Many fields are customizable. Please reference the Implementation Form for details. • The Company field is configurable and optional. If you have small businesses using your Internet Banking product, this is a good way to collect that data. If you have Small Business FinanceWorks, this field is visible for your financial institution (no configuration request required).

  9. Validation Fields (optional) You’ll work with your Intuit Financial Services Implementations Project Manager to define what fields on the registration form to use for FIAT authentication.  What fields you can use may depend on your financial institution’s host. You may also define additional validation fields for your reference. • Commonly available and recommended choices for authentication: (You must require at least two fields and can have up to four.) • SSN#/Tax ID • Mother’s Maiden Name • Date of Birth  • Zip Code   • Primary Account Number  • Last Deposit Amount   • Last Statement Date  • NOTE: In selecting authentication elements, consider the following: • Likelihood that the consumer will enter the data in a consistent manner with how it is stored on your financial institution’s host. • Select enough authentication fields to authenticate the consumer, but not so many that legitimate registrations are more likely to fail, causing a high number of manual registration approvals.

  10. Login Credentials – FIAT Only User ID: This field pre-fills with the SSN that was entered in the SSN field at the top of the form. This field is not editable.During Implementations, your financial institution will select the identifier based on your host (i.e. member number, account number). Alternate User ID: During Implementations your financial institution will determine if the consumer is required to create a unique Login ID for this field. Your financial institution will also choose to either display your unique login ID guideline requirements as a Tool Tip or as a hyperlink that when clicked, opens a new window with login ID requirements. NOTE: The Reports > IB Activity Reports may be used to track consumers that have created an Alternate User ID. Password: During Implementations, your financial institution will choose to either display your password requirements as a Tool Tip or as a hyperlink that when clicked, opens a new window with password requirements. TIP: The consumer can manage their Alternate User Id via User Options button inside of Internet Banking.

  11. Login Credentials – FIAT-HybridOnly User ID: This field pre-fills with the SSN that was entered in the SSN field at the top of the form. During Implementations, your financial institution will select the identifier based on your host (i.e. member number, account number). Alternate User ID: During Implementations your financial institution will determine if the consumer is required to create a unique Login ID for this field. NOTE: The Reports > IB Activity Reports may be used to track consumers that have created an Alternate User ID. PIN: If your financial institution chooses to display this field, the consumer enters their PIN that is currently stored on your host (i.e. telephone banking PIN, last four digits of their SSN, etc.). • TIPS: • Add a tool tip to tell the consumer exactly what to enter in the PIN and Alternate User ID field. • Enable the global password prompt. This will force all consumers to change the PIN entered on the registration form to a unique password upon the initial login to Internet Banking. Page 11

  12. Bill Pay Bill Pay: If your financial institution is using Combined Enrollment for bill payment, the consumer is registering for Internet Banking and Bill Payment via this one application. Depending on the verbiage your financial institution selected during Implementations, the consumer will either opt in or opt out of Bill Payment here. Page 12

  13. Step 2: Review the Confirmation Screen The confirmation screen allows the consumer to verify their information. If anything is incorrect, they can click Edit and the fields become editable.

  14. Step 3: Read the Disclosure Screen (optional) The consumer is prompted to accept your financial institution’s disclosure. If your financial institution is using Combined Enrollment, both the Internet Banking and Bill Pay Terms & Conditions will be displayed here. Option 1: Text box with the Accept/Decline buttons. Option 2: A checkbox which is integrated on the registration form with a link to the Terms & Conditions.

  15. Step 4: Completion Screen Authenticated - the application processes immediately . If your financial institution is Real-Time, consumers will have immediate access to Internet Banking at this time. If your financial institution is Batch or Hybrid, it will depend on your host on whether consumers will have immediate access to Internet Banking with limited information or have to wait until the next batch files are sent to Intuit Financial Services. NOTE: If your financial institution is using the host PIN as part of the login credentials and the consumer enters the wrong PIN on the registration form, they will see a modified Completion Screen text. . Soft Failure - the application does not process immediately because of incorrect validation information. Use this page to tell your consumers their registration is complete and that they will be contacted or enabled within X days. Hard Failure - the consumer’s attempted registration is denied at the host due to all validations failing to pass (e.g. SSN and the consumer’s information failed to match host). NOTE: The consumer’s application will not be saved and therefore, it will not be available to view in Admin Platform.

  17. Administration Process (The Back-End)

  18. Administrative Features • Integrated registration form viewing within Admin Platform • If application “soft fails” because of incorrect validation information, an financial institution administrator can view and approve or decline the application in Admin Platform • Ability to search and retrieve historical applications by status • Append notes to individual applications • Applications are currently stored indefinitely on the server • FIAT Information that is stored for future review as part of the Soft Failure Flow scenario has a time limit on storage for 180 days. After the data expires, the FIAT information ONLY will be purged from the system.

  19. Financial institution Email Sent (optional) • An email is sent to the financial institution if the application Soft Fails: • This email tells you that a new consumer has registered, but was not authenticated and needs to be approved through Admin Platform • The email contains minimal information – just enough for you to look up this consumer in Admin Platform. • The financial institution indicates what email address to send this email during the Implementation process.

  20. Step 1: AccessRegistration Applications Applications with a valid SSN that did not automatically process due to incorrect validation information (“soft fail”) have a status of “Needs Approval”. Access these registration applications via Registration > IB Registration Fiat Authentication. Select “Needs Approval” as the Category. Click on ‘Retrieve User List’button. Then, click on the User ID hyperlink to view the application.

  21. Step 2: Verify/Review the Registration Application Click on the FIAT Authentication button to view the consumer’s submitted information in comparison to their information as provided by the host. NOTE: The Super Usercontrols access to this button.

  22. Step 3: Approve/Decline the Registration Application Compare the information (your financial institution should have policies set as to how to deal with differences) and choose either “Approve” or “Decline” from the Select Activity dropdown and then click the Submit button. The screen will refresh with a message that the operation was successful. . NOTE: When a consumer’s registration application is placed in the ‘Decline’ status, that consumer will be removed from the system but their application information will remain in the registration database.

  23. Step 4: Consumer Receives IB Email Upon the financial institution approving/denying the consumer’s Internet Banking application in the Admin Platform, the consumer will receive either an approval or denial email.

  24. Consumers Who Opted in for Bill Pay If the consumer opted in for Bill Pay on the Combined Enrollment form, the consumer will be prompted to select their Bill Pay funding account upon their initial login. At that time, the consumer’s Bill Pay eReg record will be sent to the financial institution’s bill payment processor. NOTE: The consumer’s Bill Pay eReg record is sent to the financial institution (as opposed to the bill payment processor) if the financial institution does not have auto approval. Please refer to your Bill Pay manual for details regarding these steps/processes.

  25. Additional Registration Search Options • To view a specific consumer’s registration application: Enter their User ID and click on the ‘Retrieve User’ button. • To view all consumers’ registration applications that are in a specific status: Choose the category (New Registrations, Approved Registrations – Not Logged In, Declined Registrations, Postponed Registrations) from the dropdown and click on the ‘Retrieve User List’ button.

  26. Practical Applications – FIAT Registration • How do you know that a new consumer has registered for Internet Banking with a soft failure? • How long does an consumer need to wait between being approved for Internet Banking and being able to access their accounts online? • What is the very first thing an consumer must do if they have forgotten their password? • How do you reset an consumer’s password if they get locked out or forget their current password? • Is all the account information lost when you reset an consumer’s password? • How long does an consumer have to wait to access their accounts once they have been reset?

  27. Quick Tip Sheet: FIAT Registration Step 1: Receive an email when a new IB registration has arrived that has “soft failed” Step 2: Log into Admin Platform > Registration > IB Registration Fiat Authentication. Search for user or select Needs Approval and retrieve list Step 3: Click on the User ID and review the registration for completeness, looking at the additional verification fields Step 4: Look at the accounts the consumer wants to view online and minimize Admin Platform. Step 5: Once you have correctly enabled the consumer’s accounts on the core processor, maximize Admin Platform again, check the consumer checkbox and select the activity “Approve”. NOTES: Check two statuses within Registration > IB Registration Fiat Authentication Needs Approval (The consumer has submitted their registration, but the application was not automatically authenticated and needs review New Registrations Not Logged In (These consumers have been approved but they have not actually logged into IB for the first time – Determine the time frame before initiating contact) • Suggested Daily Tasks • Monitor the inbox for email registrations (if enabled) and the Needs Approval status in Registration > IB Registration Fiat Authentication. • Approve or deny applications. If approved, enable the accounts on your core processor if necessary. • Suggested Monthly Task • Monitor Registration > IB Registration Fiat Authentication > New Registration Not Logged In status.
