  2. Bio • A god within Norse Mythology • “The Brave God” • Scandinavian God of Peace • Champion of goodness, innocence and forgiveness • One of the Aesir in which his name also translates to “The Glorious.”

  3. Origin Below: Baldur & Nanna • Son of Odin and Frigg • His wife was Nanna and his son, Forseti • Baldur’s ship was known to be the greatest ever built-the Hringhorni “greatest of all ships” • There was also no place more beautiful than his hall, Breidablik “broad splendor”

  4. The Death of Baldur • Every man refused to hurt Baldur, making him nearly indestructible. • Began with Baldur’s own dreams about his death. • Killed by Loki and Hodr through trickery with mistletoe, which in fact took the God down.

  5. Baldur’s Legacy • Referred to as personification of the sun • Compared to as the Jesus figure of Norse Mythology • Is the god of light, joy, purity, beauty, innocence, and reconciliation.
