  1. Do Now: Discuss the following question with a partner: Describe a time when your thoughts and/or actions were impacted by those around you.

Group-Work Projects • Today we are going to be using what we have learned about research methods to understand and interpret key research in social psychology. • You have read about some of these studies over the summer, but please go through the information carefully to pick up details you may have forgotten or information that is new. • Social psychology asks how society impacts the thoughts and actions of the individual. Your task is to think about how your study answers this question and teach this information to the class.

  3. What Abilities are needed to create a song?

Roles • Materials Manager – ensures group has necessary supplies • Facilitator – ensures group has a plan, everyone understands the task, only student that can ask questions • Harmonizer – ensures ALL students are heard and are participating, ensures there are no arguments • Reporter – ensures the group is ready to present and ALL students know ALL information • Resource – monitors the time, ensures group has all important info from packets • Recorder – makes sure group has notes or diagram from discussion, helps groups identify & organize different parts of the task

The Task • Each group will get a packet containing: • The task • Discussion questions • Information sheets • Groups will have about 60 min to learn the information & create their presentations • ALL group members must know ALL information • ALL group members must be prepared to explain their presentations. • ALL key terms and important information needs to be conveyed on the posters. • You have the opportunity to be creative and find unique ways to engage your audience.
