Kenneth Ray's senior capstone project is a groundbreaking system designed to prevent termination of fetuses due to medical or physical reasons, ensuring increased chances of survival by removing the fetus from the defective host early in development. The system features the Orb incubation chamber, Isis software/hardware, and robotic arms for safe extraction. Software monitors vital signs, controls hardware, and accesses a database for data comparison. Hardware programming involves drivers for robotic arms and tools like scalpel, drill, and vacuum for extraction. The project includes documentation, comparison studies, and operational videos.

Reason • Designed for fetus’ that due to medical or physical (mother of fetus) reasons will be terminated. • Anything before week 6-8 or day 40 due to lung development has a very low survival rate
Theory • If the fetus is removed form a defective host (mother) the chances of survival are increased. • The fetus is removed from the host before proper development of fetus’ vital organs.
The unit • Orb (incubation chamber) • Isis (Software/Hardware) • Robotic Arms • Schematic pics here, maybe background on graphing paper • Exploded diagram pic
Orb • Ballistic gel material • Used due to recyclable capabilities, very easy to produce, also small incision can be made and no fluids will leak • low –med impacts and not damage no transfer shock wave(impact) to fetus
Isis • Software will monitor fetus vitals (heart rate, temp, etc.). • Software will control IR Cam, thermometer, vid cam, and networking. • Software will have access to a database for comparison of data among doctors and researchers • GUI for ease of use • SQL for searching database • Database created using c++ (compare pros and cons of which language used) EASYSQL-created using class in C++ • GUI created using C# • Python • Ruby over rails • Ajax
Software to Hardware Hardware Programming : Drivers are instructions that a device use to perform tasks .
Robots • Unsure of the number of arms needed but. • scalpel(heating iron) • drill • Sonar arm • Double scalpel for emergency extraction • Vacuum to remove fetus from host • 3 prong • M.B.
Robot motion • Axis of motion
The build • //Document process with writing publications and also a video(time lapse cam mode).
Comparison • Stages of pregnancy • //Week by week comparison • Unit • //Unit will mimic each step of a pregnancy.
Operating • //Several videos of unit in operation performing self-test and desired operations
References to abbr. • EasySql is created in C++ by using the #include <easysql/easysql.h> class. • 3 Prong is a unit used to transfer fluid. • M.B. –mesh Balloon used to attach cords
