Development of Bipolar Membranes with Catalyst Particles for Biodegradable Polymers Production

This project focuses on creating bipolar membranes utilizing nano- and microsized catalyst particles for the water dissociation reaction and electromembrane processes. Aimed at producing biodegradable polymers from organic acids in food and chemical industries, the membranes will also serve to correct pH in various solutions. Partners include Eurodia Industrie in France and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in Spain. The initiative facilitates knowledge transfer and integration of coupled ion- and volume-transfer phenomena in innovative applications.
