INQUIRY INTO FOUR LEVELS of KNOWING Logical Consciousness – thinking, communicating, direct sensory systems Subconsciousness– relaxed, reflective, receptive, creative Unconsciousness – original mental event, connection to other minds without previous sensory experience Supraconsciousness– sense of knowing beyond understanding and feeling… the universal mind

  4. 1st LEVEL OF INQUIRY QUALIFYING CONVERSATION A Brief Phone Interview Addressing : • Demographics & Psychographics • Outline of Research Project • Participant Responsibilities • SIRB Participant Privacy Rights

  5. 2nd LEVEL OF INQUIRY BASIC INQUIRY QUESTIONNAIRE  Emailed to Participant • An Extension of Qualifying Conversation • More Details of Personal Experiences Pertaining to the Point of Inquiry

  6. 3rd LEVEL OF INQUIRY SEMI-STRUCTURED INTERVIEW In-Person or on Skype Based upon: Research Question, Literature Highlights, and Participant’s Questionnaire Responses

  7. 4th LEVEL OF INQUIRY REFLECTIVE INTERVIEW A Phone or Skype Conversation 4 Levels of Inquiry The Objective Level: The “what” – facts of their experience The Reflective Level: The “gut” – reactions, emotions, feelings The Interpretive Level: The “so what” – values, meaning, insights The Decisional Level: The “now what” – resolutions, next steps
