  2. Location Grasslands are between forests and deserts. About one quarter of the Earth’s land is covered with grasslands. They are in every continent except, Antarctica.

  3. Tourist attractions Humans population depend on the service provided by ecosystems and their components, soil, water, and nutrients. Grasslands included, fish, and wildlife. Timber, water, and recreation resources, which attracts tourist.

  4. Climate & precipitation savanna prairie • Almost 100 degrees during the summer • -40 degrees during the winter • 8-month dry season • 20-120 cm of rain per year • Highs of 70 degrees • Lows of 20 degrees • Dry/ rainy seasons • 25-75 cm of rain per year

  5. Environmental concerns • Great concerns in the temperate regions , soil to rich • Dryer areas the salt builds up from irrigations • Some grasslands are turned into wastelands

  6. Land and agricultural uses • Farm land (corn and large scrubs) • Soil is deep and fertile • Perfect form crop land • American prairie were turned into one of the richest agricultural regions on earth

Animals and Adaptations • Hyenas,Warthogs,elephants,and giraffes. • Giraffes necks are long so they can reach the leaves. • Animals dig burrows because to keep cool why there’s no trees in the grasslands. • Elephants use the trunk to reach for food, to bathe themselves and drink. One of the animals in the grasslands

  8. Plants and Adaptations • Many grasses are wind pollinated and are well-suited to the exposed, windy conditions of the grasslands. • Some of the plants in the grasslands are forbs, stargrass,lemon grass, scattered trees, and flowers. • Long narrow leaves like grass do not lose as much water in the heat as big leaves do.
