  13. Source of discrepencies for the selected MDG indicators • Indicator : Tuberculosis incidence rate • Age group: All age ranges • Location: Total (national level) • Sex: Both sexes • Units of measurement: Per 100,000 population • Discrepencie : 18% • Explanation : different data sources, different methodologies • One reason for the differences may lie in the fact that international figures are estimated by WHO while national figures are calculated using data from surveys, roughly every five years. • Another source of differences seems to be the use of a different base population: WHO uses the UNDP projections, while the Ministry of Health uses the estimates of the HCP.

  14. Indicator : Population using improved drinking water sources Age group: All age ranges Location: Urban Sex: Both sexes Units of measurement: Percent Discrepencie : 1% Explanation : different data sources Country data use HCP population projections; International data are based on UNDP population estimates.

  15. Indicator : Internet users Age group: All age ranges Location: National Sex: Both sexes Units of measurement: Per 1000 population Discrepencie : 23% Explanation : different methodologies - Source for country data ANRT - Country data uses number of households that have access to the internet. However, the international definition uses the number of individuals that have access to the internet.
