II. The Baptism That Saves You • Baptism - Greek BAPTO, bap'-to; a prim. verb; to whelm, i.e. cover wholly with a fluid; in the N.T. only in a qualified or spec. sense, i.e. (lit.) to moisten (a part of one's person), or (by impl.) to stain (as with dye):--dip.
Common language • dyeing a garment by submerging it in the color dye • intent is to change the nature of the garment
Three elements to baptism • the baptizer • the one being baptized • the element one is baptized into
The Baptism that saves you 1 Corinthians 12:13 "For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit." • baptizer - Holy Spirit • the baptized - we; believers • the element baptized into - the body of Christ

IV. Living with Dying • Colossians 3:3-10 • You died to this life • So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you
Die to Dye – verse 10 – put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NLT) 19 Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, 20 for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body. • 2 Corinthians 5:15 (NLT) 15 He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.

Conclusion • Have you received the Baptism that saves you – being baptized into Christ? • Have you followed that up with water baptism, identifying yourself with Jesus in his death, burial, and resurrection? • Are you living with dying? – dying to self to have true life • Are you living with dyeing? – so that your life is taking upon it the nature of Christ?
